This advanced navigation course on Dartmoor is designed to develop your confidence to progress into the more remote areas of the British hills and mountains. You will learn advanced navigation techniques and strategies to navigate in complex and featureless terrain, poor visibility and darkness. As well as how to navigate with contour lines, use aspect of slope and relocate with more accuracy.
By the end of this course, you will have the skills and confidence to navigate all day in remote parts of the hills and mountains, find locations in featureless terrain and confidently, and safely, navigate in poor visibility and darkness.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course is for experienced hill walkers who want to be able to plan and carry out walks in some of the most remote areas of the UK hills and mountains. You'll gain the skills to relocate in featureless terrain, navigate in poor visibility and truely start to master navigation!
WHO'S IT FOR?

You may have done my INTRO TO NAVIGATION and/or INTERMEDIATE NAVIGATION courses

You are possibly considering going for the Hill and Moorland Leader or Summer Mountain Leader qualifications

Experienced hill and mountain walkers who wants to tick those more remote Wainwright Walks, Munros or classic Grade 1 scrambles.

An individual who wants to wild camp in more remote areas

A hill walker wanting to find the more difficult and remote Geocaches, Dartmoor Letterboxes or plane crash sites of Dartmoor or the Brecon Beacons

Experienced hill walker who wants to develop their navigation skills, possibly taking friends and family out on walks and wants the confidence to navigate safely in all conditions

A fit individual, capable of walking across uneven, featureless and often boggy terrain, all day for 6 hours / 8-10km
